• School PPA Cover

With the introduction of the new curriculum in 2014, the learning of a modern foreign language became a statutory requirement for all KS2 children. Clubszone offer specialist language experts in French and Spanish who can deliver a modern foreign language curriculum in a fun, engaging and inspirational way to suit the needs of your school.

The focus of our sessions is on allowing children to explore new cultures and communicate in another language, fostering their curiosity and a deeper understanding of the world. Not only do we offer PPA cover, but we also offer breakfast, lunch, after-school and holiday clubs in French and/or Spanish too!

Although foreign language learning is currently only statutory at KS2, we strongly believe that the benefits of learning a new language should be available to primary school children of all ages allowing for meaningful progression throughout the child’s time at primary school.

When working with children in KS1, our key aim is to foster their curiosity for new cultures and languages in a fun but structured way. We use a carefully planned scheme of work in either French or Spanish to introduce children to basic vocabulary. Ultimately, we want the children to enjoy learning a new language and this is why, in the majority of our sessions, we use stories, songs, puppets and signs to engage the children. Introducing MFL at KS1 provides the children with an excellent basis for continuing statutory study in KS2.

Schools will know that learning a foreign language is now a statutory requirement for all children from Years 3 to 6. At Clubszone we appreciate the heavy workload and time pressures of teaching staff in primary schools and this is where we can help. We provide PPA cover for all year groups covering either French or Spanish. Our schemes of work are fully aligned with the outcomes of the National Curriculum and all planning and assessing is completed by Clubszone staff who regularly liaise with school teachers. Our language teaching aims to be fun and interactive and will provide children with the opportunity to progress and develop their language skills from Year 3 through to Year 6. The basis of the curriculum is to:

  • give pupils the opportunity to communicate in a foreign language both in a spoken and written format
  • develop confidence in sharing ideas and opinions
  • develop problem solving skills by encouraging pupils to find ways of communicating what they want to say
  • improve pronunciation and intonation
  • develop a deeper understanding of grammatical structures
  • foster curiosity in new cultures and the wider world.

Learning a new language is not only fun and exciting, but it also boosts cognitive development. Some of the key benefits of learning a new language are:

  • encourages confidence and self-esteem
  • aids children in developing a deeper understanding of English
  • provides children with the opportunity to discover new cultures
  • develops critical thinking and creativity.

We have a real passion for languages and believe that every child should have the opportunity to engage with a new language from the earliest point possible. This is why we offer language sessions from pre-school age to Year 6 in a variety of formats including PPA cover, after-school clubs and lunchtime clubs.

Our vision at Clubszone is simple; we want all children, from tots to teens, to experience the thrill of learning a new language in a safe, fun and motivating environment.

As a team, we are committed to providing quality first teaching in a flexible manner to suit your needs.
